When you install IBM Client Access, it will automatically create an add-in in Microsoft Excel to allow you to transfer data from an AS/400 file into a worksheet.

If you install Excel after Client Access, you will need to manually activate the add-in.  Go to the Tools menu, then Add-Ins.  Click Browse, and find the add-in in the IBM\Client Access\Shared folder.

If the add-in is installed, you should see in the toolbar.  You can select the transfer function either by clicking the button or selecting "Transfer Data From AS/400…" from the Data menu.

When the Transfer Request window appears, select "Create new" to make a new transfer request.  You can select to transfer data from one or more AS/400 files.  You can also include SQL select, join, summary, and sorting criteria.

When finished, the transfer request can be saved with a .tto extension to be used again a later date.
